Despite those Brad Pitt rumours, Emily Ratajkowski is “enjoying the freedom” of single life. After splitting from Sebastian Bear-McClard over the summer, the model formally filed for divorce from her husband of four years in September. The pair share a one-year-old son, Sylvester Apollo Bear.
“They split recently. It was Em’s decision,” a source told People in July. “She is doing okay. She is strong and focused on her son. She loves being a mom. ”
Shortly after, rumours of a tryst between Ratajkowski and Pitt began to make the rounds online. In late September, a source told People that the pair “are spending a lot of time together” but “friends aren’t sure if it’s serious. ”
Now it seems we know the answer. In a new interview with Variety, Ratajkowski said she is “newly single for basically the first time in my life ever. ” She added, “And I just feel like I’m kind of enjoying the freedom of not being super worried about how I’m being perceived. ”
That desire to live an “unfiltered” life translates to her online presence as well. In the interview Ratajkowski discussed her love of TikTok. “I enjoy vulnerability and radical honesty, so TikTok is a perfect medium for that,” she said.
Lately Emily Ratajkowski has opened up to her 1. 8 million followers about a variety of topics: from the “fetishisation of female pain” in the latest Marilyn Monroe film, Blonde, to her anti-sexist take on the Adam Levine cheating scandal.
“Women seeking attention is always the classic misogyny hot topic,” she said. “It’s really what gets people going, to accuse a woman of seeking attention. Personally, I know that really well. So, yeah, I get a lot of hate. But as they say on TikTok: ‘The girls who get it, get it. ’ That’s my motto these days. ”
