Dua Lipa went full ’90s club kid to celebrate her 28th birthday on August 22. It was a slay, obviously, as well as a practical solution to keeping away a chill while still wearing a string bikini as a top.
“Raving into my 28th year,” Lipa captioned her Instagram post, alongside a carousel of pics showing the “Sweetest Pie” singer dancing the night away in her party-perfect ’fit. “Thank you for the birthday wishes. ”
In the photos Lipa wears a pair of oversized crystal-encrusted lavender trousers with an eeny-weeny Gucci bikini.
The trousers are further embellished with a flashy wallet chain, which goes perfectly with her layers of pearl and silver choker necklaces. On top, she added a sheer red shrug, in case her arms get cold, presumably, and a silver ’00s-era shoulder bag.
Completing the look is a pair of bright red see-through sunglasses. It appears that “Planet of the Bass” has a new mayor in town.
A day previously Dua Lipa celebrated another milestone on her Instagram—the eight-year anniversary of her first pop single, “New Love. ” According to Billboard, Lipa wrote on her stories, “8 Years ago I released my first song that I wrote with @wyattish [Andrew Wyatt] and @emilehaynie (and videos! ). ” She added, “19 year old me would be very happy to know we’d get this far. ”
