I tried every single product from Love Island’s new makeup range

The makeup collection includes a range of lipsticks and lip toppers with different effects, eyeshadow palettes, liquid eye shimmers, highlighters, a bronzer and a bronzing body spray, all of which will be available in the glam room for the islanders to spruce up with, as well as on the Love Island app for us to buy.

It’s that time of year again, when Love Island takes over our social media feeds, our TV screens and our general conversation. And now, GLAMOUR can exclusively reveal that this year, Love Island will be taking over our faces too with the announcement of their very own makeup brand, LoveBurst, which launched today to coincide with the new season.

We tested every single one of the new products so you know which ones to crack on with…

The same classic Love Island font and sunny packaging means this range screams fun. The only set back was that each product is individually wrapped in a foil packet, which is not biodegradable (but can be reused).

The whole collection is cruelty-free, and is priced from £13 to £25 per product, which was more of a premium price tag than we were expecting – but the proof is in the pudding.

This is the beauty version of the Love Island water bottle – everyone in the villa will have one of these to hand at all times. The moisture-rich formula soothes and hydrates lips, while the pH colour-changing technology means everyone who wears it gets a bespoke shade of pink perfectly suited to their skin.

Could these magnetic, half-heart lip paints and toppers be any cuter? No, no they couldn’t. The idea is you choose your shade of Lip Paint, followed by a Topper, and the two slot together in a heart shape for you to keep together as one. Aw. (If you thought that they’re a lot like Fenty Beauty Matchstix, you’d be totally right – the packaging is designed by the same people.)

The Lip Paints are available in a good range of colours, from classic red to deep pink to dusty rose, so there’s bound to be one that appeals. The wand is perfectly shaped so that you can use the nib to get a great line around the edge, and a concave side to coat the lip in one stroke.

There are four accompanying toppers, all with a different effect. Be Mine, a soft gloss that creates instant shine without stickiness, All That Glitters, a pink glittery (sadly, non biodegradable) gloss, and Starstruck and Fireworks, two holographic glosses. For full effect, we recommend dabbing the toppers on and re-dipping between each dab, but for a subtle transformation, a simple sweep across the lips will suffice.

These six shadow palettes comes in two different colour options – All Heart, which is total sunset vibes, and Thrill, which is more smoky and smoldering. Each palette offers three matte shadows, and three shimmering shades. The pigment pay-off is major – at least, it is where the shimmering shades are concerned. One sweep delivers rich, creamy pigment that can be easily used alone, or else layered with other shades. The matte shadows are less impressive, and needed a few swipes to get decent results.

Although it looks pretty pigmented in the bottle, the spray actually blends into the skin with a subtle shimmer and kiss of bronze that can be built upon with more layers. The tropical, vanilla scent is a surefire winner for all.

They may not look like the most luxurious or high-end product, but these heart-shaped highlighters deliver a luminous shimmer that rivals any one of its more premium counterparts. Three shades cater to all skin tones, and the ultra-fine powder delivers a creamy glow that’s akin to natural radiance.

Bronzer is a Love Island pre-requisite (for both the girls and the boys) and we’re pretty sure this LoveBurst bronzer will satisfy. It gives a very believable bronze, which isn’t at all orange, and a super subtle hint of glow, which lifts the complexion to provide that healthy holiday look. Obsessed.
