Cheryl has spoken out about her future plans for expanding her family, and how the last few years have altered her motherhood journey.
In an interview with MailOnline, she talked about considering adoption in order to have another child.
“I just love babies and children and I’d do anything to help or have another one around but it’s not as prevalent anymore,” she explained.
She already has a five-year-old son, Bear, with her ex-boyfriend and ex-One Direction singer Liam Payne.
Back in 2020, Cheryl was considering using a sperm donor to have a second child – but the pandemic has made her think slightly differently.
«In the process of the pandemic I looked around at the world and thought this world is a bit crazy. Is it a sensible idea to bring a soul into all into this madness? »
A rare picture of Cheryl and her son Bear – the star chooses to protect her son’s privacy.
Cheryl describes being “hell bent” on having another child while Bear was “at that perfect age”.
“I think if you have that couple-year age gap, you can still do things with them together where they’re both engaged and both interested,” she said.
“Now that the pandemic happened in the in the meantime, and there’s such an age gap, and I’m a bit older. I’m not so sure, honestly. ”
For now, she is choosing to remain focused on her son. Lockdown allowed her and Bear to bond very closely, and she holds that one-on-one time very close to her heart.
‘I think I enjoyed the lockdown a little bit too much,» she admitted. «Bear was just turning three and was at that perfect stage where he knew how to talk back. It was a really precious age for him.
“I’m really blessed to be able to have that time just me and him. So I think I just enjoyed those couple years a little bit too much. ”
She describes her efforts at keeping Bear away from social media as much as possible, but that he has become obsessed with the Internet dance craze started by Netflix hit Wednesday when star Jenna Ortega did a ridiculous, awesome dance routine during a school dance scene.
We can’t blame Bear for wanting to recreate it.
