We have Hailey Bieber to thank for popularising this year’s undisputed biggest nail trend: glazed donut nails. And now, the model’s given us candy cane glazed nails together with her long-time manicurist, Zola Ganzorigt, just in time for Christmas.
Personally, we’d never have tipped candy canes as the coolest way to accent your mani, but Zola’s rendition is delicious. The look takes the classic sheeny-sheer glazed donut nail as the base, then finishes it off with a stripe of candy red to create a French tip that contrasts against the subtle pearl pink.
The overall look is equal parts, delicate, pretty, fun and bold. It’s a sugar-plum fairy meets Mrs Claus situation and we’re very much here for it. Hence, we’ll be heading straight to our nearest nail artist to recreate it.
Speaking of which, Zola helpfully shared the exact shades she used to create Hailey’s candy cane glazed nails. She used a pro gel system to give a long-lasting finish, prepping nails with the OPI GelColor Stay Strong Base Coat, before applying one coat of OPI GelColor in Funny Bunny for a sheer white base and Big Apple Red for the French tip. She locked in the look with the OPI Chrome Effects No-Cleanse Top Coat to add a gleam to the nails, then doubled up by rubbing the Chrome Effects in Tin Man from the brand for extra sheen. Finally she finished with the OPI GelColor Stay Shiny Top Coat.

To complete her festive look, Hailey also called upon makeup artist, Leah Darcy, who applied a high-shine candy red lip to match Hailey’s nails, while keeping the rest of her look fresh and glowy. We love a beauty co-ord.
