If you want to get more Tinder action and have a little spare money, Tinder Plus or Tinder Gold might be what you’re looking for. They enhance the original Tinder experience while adding some worthwhile features.
But if you want to keep things hidden or tidy, can you pay for Tinder with your PayPal account?
You can pay for Tinder using PayPal but only indirectly. Tinder uses app subscriptions to get paid, which means you set up your payment in Apple or Google. You can pay for those services using PayPal though, which is why you can only pay for Tinder with your PayPal account indirectly.
Paying for Tinder Plus or Tinder Gold
If you already have Tinder and want more, Tinder Plus or Tinder Gold might deliver what you need. Tinder Plus currently costs $9. 99 a month and offers a bunch of features that makes using the app just that little bit better. Tinder Gold costs an extra $5 a month and offers Likes You. I cover the features at the bottom.
Paying for Tinder through the Apple App Store
You set up your Tinder subscription through the app itself or via the App Store. The App Store seems easiest though.
- Go to the App Store on your device.
- Scroll to the bottom.
- Log in using your Apple ID
- Scroll down to Subscriptions and select Manage.
- Select Tinder and set the auto-renewal slider to On or select Subscribe.
If you have PayPal set up as a payment option within the App Store, you can pay via that method. You can also manage your subscriptions through iTunes too but this seems easiest.
Paying for Tinder through the Google Play Store
The same method works for the Google Play Store. You can pay through the app as well but I like the Google Play Store more.
If you prefer to do it on your phone, do this:
- Go to the Google Play Store.
- Search for Tinder in your list of installed apps and select its page.
- Select Manage Subscriptions.
- Select Subscribe.
If you want to use the web, do this:
- Navigate to the Google Play Store in your browser.
- Select My Subscriptions from the left menu.
- Navigate to Tinder Plus or Gold and select Subscribe.
You can unsubscribe through Tinder even though you cannot set one up.
- Navigate to www. Tinder. com
- Select the profile icon at the top of the main screen
- Navigate to Manage Account and disable Auto Renew or select Cancel.
You can cancel your Tinder subscription by performing these same steps and selecting Cancel or Unsubscribe. Once you cancel your Tinder subscription, you will be able to use the premium features until the end of your billing period. You will then revert to the free version of the app.
What does a Tinder subscription offer?
Tinder Plus offers Unlimited Likes, 5 Super Likes a day, 1 Tinder Boost a month, Passport and Rewind, the ability to undo your last swipe. Tinder Gold adds the Likes You feature.
Unlimited Likes is great if you live somewhere with a lot of Tinder users. You can swipe right all day long and never run out. The free app limits your right swipes, which is okay for casual users or those in smaller cities but if you live somewhere populated or want to use the app to its full potential, you need more.
Unlimited Likes Super Likes are for if you really like someone and want make sure they notice you. I find these creepy but lots of people don’t so you may get more out of them. Tinder Boost places your profile card at the top in the deck of your potential matches. The more often you’re seen, the more likely you are to be swiped.
Passport allows you to modify your geographical location. Useful if you travel or work on the road. Rewind is the most useful feature here. It allows you to undo your last swipe. Useful if you’re not paying attention and accidentally swipe left on someone you think you might like. They will reappear in your stack at some point but if you don’t want to wait, Rewind will help.
The Tinder Gold feature Likes You is relatively new. It allows you see who has swiped right on you already. Usually you have to wait to see if you match when you swipe right yourself. Likes You has a specific window that shows you everyone who has already swiped right on you. This is a time saver for popular people. If you find your profile getting a lot of attention, Likes You may be worth the investment.
Due to the way the company manages subscriptions, you cannot pay for Tinder with your PayPal account. If you use PayPal in the App Store or Google Play, you can use PayPal to pay, just not directly.
