Bethenny Frankel Is Expanding Her Skinnygirl Brand Into Denim

When you think of Bethenny Frankel, you probably think of Real Housewives, low-calorie cocktails, and her various spin-off reality programs, probably in that order.

But Frankel, ever the businesswoman, is on a mission to put herself on the map in the fashion world with a Skinnygirl clothing line, which will feature denim, tops, and jackets in the $100 range.

Despite the body shame-y sounding name, according to WWD, Skinnygirl is actually intended to appeal to a diverse range of women and will even offer plus sizes. The line is being produced by One Jeanswear Group, the company behind celebrity lines by the likes of Gloria Vanderbilt, Jessica Simpson, and Justin Timberlake. Frankel has been promoting Skinnygirl jeans on social media since December, but the line will officially launch this week.

“Skinnygirl is a state of mind and a sensibility,” Frankel told WWD. “It’s not about the words. It’s about applauding your strength and feeling good about yourself. It is important to me that this line is inclusive of all shapes and sizes. ”

And, if you happen to be less than blessed in the booty department, it could be the source of your next favorite pair of jeans: “Especially now when the derrière is so coveted and everyone is loving a more-voluptuous look – I don’t have that look, I have a flat butt – we’re going to accentuate the positive. ”

It’s not the first time Frankel has taken steps to expand her lifestyle empire. In 2016, she launched Skinnygirl Beauty, a line of lotions, cleaners, and beauty products sold at Walmart, and she has previously discussed the creation of a Skinnygirl marijuana strain that wouldn’t cause the munchies. Um, Bethenny, if you’re reading this, can you still make that happen?
