That’s because fashion giantASOShas launched three charity shop boutiques in partnership with Oxfam, Barnardo’s and TRAID, meaning you can now scroll vintage clothes from the comfort of your own home.
If you’ve always dreamed of uncovering vintage gems in a charity shop, but more often than not been greeted by nothing but piles of wooden jumpers and polyester nighties in dusty aisles, your fortunes are about to change.
The new boutiques can be found under ASOS Marketplace, where they’ll sit in good company alongside ASOS’s other range of independent brands and vintage boutiques.
You’ll no longer have to rummage through packed rails to find one-of-a-kind pieces, because the clothes will be all be curated and styled in the manner of ASOS’s mainline fashion ranges, giving us a chance to envisage what the piece will look like IRL.
What’s more, each boutique will have a slightly different angle, making it easier for your to tailor your search. The Oxfam Festival Shop stocks a range of vintage t-shirts, colourful crochet and vibrant outerwear, TRAID has plenty of vintage dresses, shoes and accessories, while Barnardo’s has stylish leather jackets and denim shirts.
All three boutiques will stock men’s and women’s clothes, and will restock with regular product drops online, so there’s no chance of all the best pieces being snapped up before you have a chance to browse. Most importantly, 100% of the proceeds will go direct to the partner charities.
Taking to Instagram to announce the news, ASOS explained that the shop will be filled with the “highest quality one-offs” sourced by specialist vintage-hunters.
“You did a spring clearout and donated a few bags of clothes to charity. Specialist teams rifled through them, and thousands of others, to select the highest quality one-offs. They were cleaned, re-conditioned, photographed and then uploaded on to site for other people to find and treasure all over again! ”
