As more celebrities are spotted wearing Zimmermann, we talk to the woman behind the Aussie label about the impact on her brand

Popular amongst the fashion crowd since its launch in 1991, Australian fashion brand Zimmermann has been gaining popularity within the celebrity circuit over the last few years.

Founded by sisters Nicky and Simone Zimmermann, the label reflects its Australian roots via an instantly recognisable and much-adored summery aesthetic of loose, feminine silhouettes and delicate prints.

Recently garnering attention from some of the world’s most well-dressed women, Zimmermann has been spotted on the likes of Beyoncé, Kendall Jenner, Margot Robbie and Jourdan Dunn.

But what is the impact on an already hugely popular brand when an A-lister wears it completely organically?

We caught up with Nicky to find out if it’s still as exciting as ever…

What impact does someone like Beyoncé wearing your label have?

As a designer, it’s always really exciting to see someone you admire wearing our clothes. Beyoncé is just amazing for so many reasons.

Who’s the most ‘influential’ celebrity that’s worn Zimmermann so far in terms of driving sales?

I don’t really know who’s the most influential, but there’s obviously some women in the world who people love and they have incredible power to influence what people wear.

Is there one person in particular that you’d love to see wearing the brand?

Not really. I just don’t think about what we do in that way. It’s very humbling when you see anyone make the choice to buy into our collections – one of the best things for me is seeing a cool girl on the street wearing something of ours but with her own take on it.

What’s the one hero Zimmermann piece this season?

For current season, I love our Whitewave doily dress from Spring 18.

Do digital influencers or celebrities have more impact on brand awareness?

I think celebrities with a distinct sense of style still grab everyone’s attention.
