He may have won us over as Phoebe Buffay’s boyfriend in Friends, but that doesn’t excuse Michael Rapaport from making completely sexist remarks.
The one-time Friends actor was promoting his podcast on Twitter when he took the opportunity to mock Ariana Grande with a totally unsolicited takedown.
“Ariana Grande is 27 acts 12, you take off those boots she hides her legs in, the cat eye make up and the genie pony tale and I think there’s hotter women working the counter at Starbucks no disrespect to Starbucks,” he tweeted.
However, Rapaport didn’t count on the power of The Ariantors, who immediately rallied around in Grande’s defense with some pretty spectacular responses.
People are going wild over the secret messages Ariana Grande planted for her exes in her ‘Thank U, Next’ music video
Thank you for doing this. I often wake in a cold sweat wondering what a nearly 50-year-old man thinks about Ariana Grande’s looks.
I’m glad it’s finally settled.

Clearly Rapaport wasn’t prepared for the wrath of Grande’s fans, as he posted a forceful retort just a couple of hours later.
“When I talk viciously about The Leader of the Free World aka Dick Stain Donald Trump or Tiki Torch Tough Guys in Virginia, I’m a Social Media HERO, but a joke about Ariana Grande is SHAMING”.
Something’s hit a nerve, then.
We doubt Grande will be losing sleep any sleep thinking about what anyone thinks of her looks, but we’ll take this opportunity to flag this flawless comeback to Piers Morgan, who attempted to shame Little Mix for their sexuality last month.
also @piersmorgan, i look forward to the day you realize there are other ways to go about making yourself relevant than to criticize young, beautiful, successful women for everything they do. i think that’ll be a beautiful thing for you and your career or what’s left of it. ?

For the record Rapaport, reducing a woman to the sum of her parts isn’t ‘disruptive’, it’s yawningly sexist. Thank u, next.
