Assist ready-to-wear Studio Director in day-to-day tasks ensuring that the process, from design to production, meets all deadlines and achieves all quality control/commercial and aesthetic objectives, remaining within budgetary constraints.
PRIMARY ROLE
Development Budgeting and Scheduling
Design team communication flow
Collection preparation and tracking
Day-to-Day Tasks consist of but are not limited to:
- Manage and track all spending based on master collection budget
- Conduct monthly reconciliation analysis and review with Finance team
- Work with VP of Studio Operations to ensure that the design and production teams adhere to global schedule at all times, updating Global Planning Calendar and communication changes as necessary
- Liaise will and make bookings for seamstresses and additional production support (e.g. sewing machines) as necessary
- Make bookings for fittings models as necessary
- Take minutes and communicate next steps from weekly design team meeting
- Assist VP of Studio Operations in development and execution of designs for seasonal collections, special projects and collaborations
- Continue to manage and update excel files pertaining to collection launches, coding and pricing
- Liaise with Italian production and manufacturing team to update collection details within internal inventory system
- Ensure all master launches are checked and verified by design team prior to passing on to production team
- Assist VP of Merchandising with Fabric report analysis, collection checking and pricing
- Arrange inspiration, research, fabric and materials swatches into seasonal binders and design archives
- Prepare introductory collection books outlining inspiration, fabric, merchandising plan to other company functions including sales and marketing
- Check in, inventory and tag each item (ready-to-wear, shoes, leathergoods) as pieces arrive from international production
- Prepare and arrange collection (ready-to-wear, shoes, leathergoods) for styling, photoshoots and runway shows
- Prepare showroom for sales, marketing presentations
- Prepare seasonal boards for internal design and company meetings
- Ensure cleanliness and tidiness of design area at all times
- Visit off-site archives for requested pulls and other archiving needs
- Prepare and track of all domestic and international shipments pertaining to production and development, ensuring all shipments are sent and communicated in a timely manner
- Liaise with design intern on ad-hoc tasks required by design team
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE
- College Graduate
- Internship or entry level experience in fashion or manufacturing business
- Preferably in Merchandising, Management
- Keen understanding and knowledge of the fashion and garment business
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Excel skills essential*** (Pivot Table, V-Lookup, Basic accounting formulas)
- Microsoft office (Word, Powerpoint)
- Budgetary tracking and reporting
- InDesign/Illustrator/Photoshop preferred, but not required
