Adele is officially coming for 2021 as she records ‘powerful’ new music just before Christmas

The British musician was officially back in the studio last week after spending 2020 writingnew materialwith Rick Nowels, who co-wroteWhy Do You Love Meon her last album,25.

Adele has recorded some new music and apparently, it will give you ‘chills’.

This time though, it was former Pearl Jam drummer Matt Chamberlain who let slip about Adele’s top-secret recording session in London gushing about how goddamn incredible she sounded.

“I just got to work on some new music for Adele,” he told The Eddie Trunk podcast on SiriusXM this week. “To hear that voice in my headphones was getting me chills.

“It was just so powerful and emotive. You know her voice, but to be across the room from somebody doing that, it’s just insane. You hear it on the radio and whatever and you go, ‘Yeah, it’s really good,’ but to be in the room with these people and feel that energy, it’s just so heavy. ”

Masked up and socially-distanced for the studio session, Rick says he was in the same room to add drums to the track she laid down last week.

We’re getting major power ballad-y type vibes already.

We’ve already had hints that the singer was back in London to record new music but this is the first official proof.

Even though she’s previously said she has ‘no idea’ when the next record will be released, we’re keeping everything crossed for 2021, which will be six years since her last album.

There’s been plenty for Adele to reflect on, too (and we’re not talking about Covid-19).

When she turned 31 last May, the Hello hitmaker said that 30 had “tried her so hard” but that she was “owning it and trying her hardest to lean into it all. ”

It was confirmed that Adele had split from husband Simon Konecki, the father of her son Angelo, the following month and for almost a year, the musician has kept a characteristically low profile – though it’s not exactly been hard in this year of self-isolation.

That was until her hilarious stint presenting Saturday Night Live in America, where she showcased a remarkable 7-stone weight loss for the first time on screens.

Then, came the final confirmation that new music was off the cards in 2020 as she signed off for the year, declaring: “I’m going back to my cave now to be the (single) cat lady that I am. Peace out til next year. ”

AKA. Goodbye 2020, Hello, 2021?
