Actresses Wear The Pants At The 2018 Golden Globes

A sea of black took over the red carpet at the 75th annual Golden Globe Awards in LA on Jan. 7 as actresses and actors stood together in solidarity to support the Time’s Up movement, sending a powerful message while presenting a united front against sexual harassment that went beyond the typical style statements we’re used to seeing on the red carpet during awards season, but these leading ladies took it a step further, trading traditional gowns for powerful pants.

From Claire Foy to Debra Messing, Maggie Gyllenhaal and Laurie Metclaf, see who opted for chic trousers at the show.

Debra Messing was one of the first stars to hit the red carpet, where she dazzled in a two-piece ensemble by designer Christian Siriano.

Alison Brie,(who was nominated for her role inGLOW), opted for a strapless pantsuit by designer Vassilis Zoulias that featured a dramatic overskirt, which she topped off with sparkling jewels. “Tonight is about women wearing the pants so I chose toliterallywear the pants,” she said on the red carpet ahead of the show.

Alexis Bledel also opted for a jumpsuit, making a grand entrance in a black-and-white Oscar de la Renta ensemble.

Christina Hendricks was on hand to serve as a presenter at the show, where she opted for a one-shoulder velvet top and skirt, which featured a front slit, allowing her pants to show beneath the ensemble. She polished off her Christian Siriano outfit with exquisite Chopard jewels, which included her 23. 85-carat earrings.

Kyra Sedgwick looked sleek and chic in a Christian Siriano suit, pairing her blazer with tailored trousers.
