Beauty tutorials are big on YouTube – a search for “makeup tutorial” and “hair tutorial” yields more than five million videos. In this weekly series, we put a mix of popular and under-the-radar tutorials to the test and show you whats best.
Its (finally) that time of year again: Yay, Its Finally Warm – But Oh, Shit, My Arms and Legs Are Straight-Up Ghostlike season. Time to load up on self-tanner and fix things, ASAP.
Its worth noting here that sunless tanning products are definitely not just for those with pale skin; the fair-complected may be especially keen on getting a real glow, but for medium and even dark skin tones, self-tanner can work wonders on evening out skin tone and making limbs look dewy and flawless.
Since basically all self-tanners rely on the same ingredient, DHA, to deliver a tint, whether you wind up with streaks or blotches depends largely on your application method. Beauty influencer and vlogger Jaclyn Hill – who also worked at a tanning salon in high school – has a foolproof process for getting a streak- and blotch-free effect. And of course, she decided to share it with the internet via a video tutorial.
According to Hill, the perfect self-tanner application begins with a shower, good exfoliation and a close shave. Then there are the tools she relies on: A standard mitt and a slightly less expected makeup brush. To find out all of her tips for a perfect self-tanning experience, you can watchthe full video above.
