27 Best Romantic Films On Netflix To Make You Emotional

Romantic movies can do no wrong. I mean, as much as we love a gripping true crime documentary and an edge-of-our-seat thriller movie here at GLAMOUR HQ, some days just call for a lovey-dovey flick.

Also, with everything happening in the world, we could probably all do with being reminded of the power of love – which shouldn’t have to be reserved for Valentine’s Day. Luckily for us, romantic movies on Netflix are in no shortage, with the platform being home to some of the best films of all time that will tug at even the coldest of hearts during a cosy night in (a glass of wine and face mask highly recommended).

The streaming service has recently delivered with its catalogue of romance movies in the past few months, such as Persuasion, starring Dakota Johnson, who also starred in the ever-so-steamy Fifty Shades of Grey.

Meanwhile, Purple Hearts broke us with its emotional story of a struggling singer-songwriter who agrees to marry a troubled Marine, Luke for military benefits. Perhaps, you want something more light-hearted? Well, fear not, as there are tonnes of options. Such as To All the Boys 3: Always and Forever which is the third and final instalment in the Jenny Han trilogy. In the movie high-schooler Lara Jean (Lana Condor) contemplates her future – and whether there’s space for Peter (Noah Centineo) in it. Expect romance, tears, and ALL of the drama! Looking for something similar? How about All The Bright Places or A Perfect Pairing?

Om Shanti Om is also one romance story not to be missed for all those Bollywood lovers. And if you want an LGBTQIA+ movie, look no further than Blue is the Warmest Colour, starring Léa Seydoux and Adèle Exarchopoulos or Brokeback Mountain, starring Heath Ledger and Jake Gyllenhaal.
