We can always count on our television screens to keep us entertained and provide a much-needed sense of escapism from the stark realities of everyday life. Needless to say, we have relied on our screens more than ever in the last couple of years (ahem, lockdown, we’re looking at you).
Luckily, we have always been spoilt for choice when it comes to what we want to watch, and with the emergence of subscription-based streaming services such as Netflix, Disney+, NOW TV etc, in the past few years, there have been more choices than ever before for when we want to curl up on the sofa with a warm drink in hand.
While we’re thankful for the offerings on our screens in 2022, we can’t help but notice that the catalogue of 2023 tv shows looks even more exciting, and we seriously cannot wait to catch all of it! Remember that action-packed video game, The Last Of Us? Well, there’s now an upcoming show of the same name, which will soon be available on Sky Atlantic and NOW.
We’ll also see The Weeknd make his grand acting debut in the new Sam Levinson-directed drama The Idol alongside Lily-Rose Depp. And if you’re a fan of the ‘Ton, don’t miss out on the hotly-anticipated Bridgerton prequel, Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story.
There are also new seasons of our favourite shows, such as Happy Valley on BBC One, You on Netflix, Succession on Sky Atlantic and Servant on Apple TV. So you might as well cancel all your pre-booked plans for next year to settle in for binge-watching all your favourite tv shows in 2023.
