16 Christmas nail art ideas to add some glitz to your fingertips

Practically speaking, this means cracking out the glitter, stars and tinsel to get stuck in to decorating. But, *plot twist*, there’s no need to stick strictly to the tree… especially when you could spread the joy across your fingertips too.

Do you want the good news or the bad news? Scratch that. Let’s ditch the bad news and just double-up on the good. We deserve it.

Number one, Tuesday marks the first day of December, which means if you’ve been holding out on the ol’ Christmas spirit (never a good idea), it’s time to hit beast mode on the festivities. We’re talking mulled wine, mince pies, and Mariah’s Christmas album – the whole shebang.

When it comes to Christmas nail art, the options are endless. Simple tinsel tips in silver or gold can replace your traditional Frenchies for something a bit more festive. Starscape designs work all year round, but they make most sense during the Christmas countdown – keep them in classic metal hues, or switch things up with something bold and neon.

Delicate holly designs can jazz up cuticles. And glitter adds some much needed sparkle (the more the merrier, quite frankly). Depending on your painting skills, you could give some of them a go at home (glitter’s totally foolproof), or, if you’re feeling extra boujee, make up for all those cancelled plans in November by treating yourself to a luxe mani.

Which brings us to point number two. Wednesday, marks the second day of Christmas, but also, the day salons and nail bars re-open complete with scrupulous health and safety protocols to keep you safe.

Either way, we’ve rounded up some of our favourite festive designs to rock in the run-up to Christmas.
