New York City is known for being home to a diverse array of artists, designers, makers, and other talented creatives. And while studios and workshops can be found in all corners of the city, a huge faction of them call Brooklyn home. The borough has a rich heritage of playing host to textile designers, manufacturers, and furniture makers, among other creative industries, and that commitment to craft is still alive and well today. To showcase this, the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce hosts BKLYN Designs, an annual celebration of the best art, design, jewelry, textiles, furniture, technology, and lighting coming out of the borough today. The two day event, now in its 15th year, is on at the Brooklyn Museum for the first time, where an exciting mix of exhibitions, collaborations, talks, panels, pop-ups, and other events will kick off NYCxDesign. Ahead, AD PRO presents some of the best.
