Yara Shahidi’s Shorts-and-Sweater Combo Is What We Wish We Could Be Wearing Right Now
Yara Shahidi is easily one of Fashionista's favorite dressers in Hollywood at the moment; she didn't make our 2017 best dressed list for nothing! On Monday, she nailed it on the fashion front yet again during an appearance on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" wearing exactly what we wish we could be wearing right now — you know, if spring ever decides to happen here in New York City.
Shahidi leaned into the much more temperate climate of Los Angeles with a sweater-and-shorts combo by Alberta Ferretti in beige, white and blue tones. And while that may sound ho-hum on paper, it's certainly a winning ensemble on Shahidi.
The look, conceptualized by Shahidi's go-to stylist Jason Bolden, also featured tan Brian Atwood pumps, a Carbon & Hyde ring and earrings and and a fun li'l ankle bracelet. (Note to self: Are anklets officially back? Are they acceptable for non-teenaged, non-celebrities to wear? Must check.)
Shahidi is never one to disappoint when it comes to hair and makeup, either, and in this case, she made an especially on-trend choice, donning violet eye shadow for a nice contrast to her largely neutral outfit. According to makeup artist Emily Cheng, who was behind the look, that glimmery purple hue came from the new Pat McGrath Labs MTHRSHP Subversive La Vie En Rose Palette. (The specific shade is called, delightfully, Purple Reign.)
