Virgin Active opens its new Kensington club

Half of Londoners see paying for the gym as ‘an investment’ in their overall health and 43 per cent see membership as essential to their overall wellbeing, a new study has found.

Research from the gym giants Virgin Active found that weekdays are the most popular for a workout rather than at weekends – and that gym bunnies in the capital are more experimental with their workouts thanthan any other part of the country.

Around a third of Londoners have given up on fitness goals before reaching them – then waited eight months before starting to hit their targets again

The gym specialists conducted the fitness survey to coincide with the relaunch of the Virgin Active flagship gym in Kensington, west London.
