This Is Easily Steph’s Favorite Nail File

I spent years using sandpapery emery boards to file my nails, but often found myself simply clipping them instead, because I found the whole process so unpleasant. Nails on a chalkboard are bad, but so are nails on a nail file. Why does no one ever talk about that?

Then I finally got my shit together and tried a crystal file. Let me just tell you, in case youve never had the pleasure of using one before: Its game-changing. And this particular one, which costs just $10 at Sephora, is the best Ive encountered.

Rather than the bumpy grit of a standard emery board, this crystal file has a super-fine surface that shortens and smooths nails without that cringe-y feeling that youve taken a cheese grater to them. It leaves the nail edge perfectly even, like youve given yourself a professional-quality manicure, in just a few swipes.

Another benefit of the file is that it lasts far longer than a typical emery board; a quick rinse under water and its good as new. The slim case is also helpful, since it allows you to throw the tool in your bag and keep it with you at all times (without fear of breaking the glass-like instrument).

Im not the only one whos obsessed with it: The file has 438 five-star reviews on Sephoras website, an average rating of 4. 7 stars and has been “loved” by shoppers 10,000 times. See? Truly the best.
