This 00s hair colour trend is making a mega-comeback for autumn

What’s better than glass hair? Ombré glass hair. Touché Elizabeth Lail.

The actress was spotted at the premiere of You, with a super shiny lob and the most natural dark-to-light colour transition we’ve ever seen.

Lauren Conrad has always led the way when it comes to ombré and her latest two-toned ‘do is quite dramatic.

Her chocolate brown roots quickly turn into icy blonde lengths, and the contrast gives us chills.

Hilary Duff’s dirty blonde roots and honey blonde ends is ombre at its best. If you’re a natural mousey-brown brunette, take this to your hairdresser for a summer colour that’ll disguise any regrowth.

Jessica Biel shows us the modern way to wear ombre, with just a few golden strands framing her face, and then blended subtly into her mid-lengths and ends. Less is definitely more in 2018.

Miley Cyrus may have just grown out her natural colour rather than dip dyeing the ends – but the overall ombre effect has still got us like yaaaas!

Ombre is back, baby! And Ashley Benson is here to give us major hair envy, with the look that will be a hit once again this season.

Elizabeth Olsen keeps it low key with her gorgeous tousled waves and subtle ombre dye.

Laverne Cox chooses to take her balayage fairly high up and we love it.

Ashley Tisdale’s caramel ombre is on point.

Is SJP the queen of the balayage? We think she could be.

Emilia Clarke has gone blonde and we are loving her new look. Her soft ombre starts on a warm tone and finishes in a perfect Malibu blonde, her messy wavy locks are beach-babe material!

Rochelle Humes looked gorgeous at the premiere for Bridget Jones’ Baby – we love her grown-out ombre look. So chic!

Make way for Miss Perrie Edwards with her new awesome hair. The Little Mix babe has been a fan of sombre for a while, but now she’s gone for a full-on ombre look with bright blonde ends. Lovely.

Melissa McCarthy’s subtle dip-dye shade is fresh for Spring.

We love Kristen Wiig’s slightly grown-out ombre style.

Anne Hathaway’s hair is growing quickly, it feels like only yesterday she was sporting her choppy pixie cut. We love this longer length lob style, and also can’t get enough of the pretty subtle ombre colour.

Gwen Stefani is always a fan of a drastic dip-dye style.

… and here’s the look from the back!

One of our favourite ombre looks has to come from our beauty hero, Olivia Wilde. It’s a subtle way to wear dip-dye.

Kim Kardashian once rocked subtle ombre locks – and proved she can pull off any style with aplomb.

The great thing about rocking grown-out roots is that they create a gorgeous subtle ombre effect. Just follow Doutzen Kroes’ lead.

Suki Waterhouse’s cool grown-out roots help create a perfect subtle ombre effect, and one which looks excellent when styled into tight glossy curls.

Lily James has a stunning subtle ombre hue, which she styles into a lob.

Dakota Johnson’s choppy style features a touch of ombre. Look closely and you’ll spot the cool light highlights in the underneath sections of her hair.

Another day, another PERFECT balayage from Ms Barrymore. And just HOW does she get her locks so glossy? !

We love Halle Berry’s gorgeous beachy curls in pretty ombre. She also looks fantastic with a soft fringe.

Oh, Drew – you are the QUEEN of ombre hair. This is honey-ed perfection.
