The Marco Marco show at NYFW featured ALL trans models

Over at New York Fashion Week, designer Marco Marco unveiled his boundary-breaking runway – with every single one of his 34 models identifying as transgender.

Fashion is a pretty damn inclusive place to be right now – and we have a serious amount of time for it.

More and more designers have been proving that fashion is for everyone by sending a wide range of models down their runways – but one Los Angeles-based designer just blew everyone out of the water with his casting.

Speaking to Mic about his decision, he said: “I wanted to create a space to celebrate trans bodies. This was an opportunity for their presence to be undeniable and reinforce that trans is beautiful. ”

You may have recognised a few famous faces from the lineup, including absolute icon, Gigi Gorgeous, and Transparent actress, Trace Lysette.

And it seems that Trace was super trilled to be involved, taking to Twitter to write: “At 36-26-40 I’ve never been model industry standard, and I don’t want to be. I love my thickness. Thanks Marco Marco for embracing ALL types of beauty. ”

A hashtag quickly went viral after the show opened, with people using #TransIsBeautiful to celebrate the catwalk show.

We couldn’t agree more.

“I can’t speak my mind because I’m a black transgender woman,” says Munroe Bergdorf in her most candid interview ever
