The Best Dresses From The 2018 SAG Awards

While a sea of black dresses ruled the red carpet at the 2018 Golden Globe Awards the sentiments of the Time’s Up movement certainly weren’t forgotten as our favorite leading ladies took to the stage for the Screen Actors Guild Awards in LA, just a day after the 2018 Women’s March.

Rather than rock black, on this occasion the celeb set opted for an array of color and sparkle for the award show, selecting bold looks that oozed confidence.

Metallics proved to be one of the most popular trends of the evening, with a slew of stylish stars sporting their own version of glitz and glam on the red carpet. From Nicole Kidman to Olivia Munn and Lupita Nyong’o, it was one of the boldest trends.

At just 13 Millie Bobby Brown is already one to watch on the red carpet and she opted for a look that was so relatable and chic as she sported an age-appropriate pair of Converse sneakers with her sparkling frock.

One of the most eye-catching looks of the night was the pale pink feathered Miu Miu creation worn by I, Tonya nominee Margot Robbie–she was a vision in the flowing frock.

While we loved these looks, there’s way more where that came from. See all of the best dresses from the SAG Awards below.

Nicole Kidman was a vision in a long-sleeved, metallic sequin Giorgio Armani creation that featured a bold floral embellishment at the shoulder and an open back, which balanced out the front of the frock perfectly. The dress was exactly what we expected to see on the actress and she pulled it off with ease, all while delivering a powerful acceptance speech that addressed ageism in Hollywood.

Margot Robbie has brought her A-game to the red carpet this awards season, first in a dramatic Gucci gown for the Golden Globes and now in a feathered Miu Miu frock for the SAGs. The pale pink ensemble featured intricate embellishments and a halter-style neckline.

Lupita Nyong’o looked like a powerful superhero when she took to the stage as a presenter, clad in a sparkling, strapless metallic Ralph and Russo couture gown which also incorporated feather detailing at the hemline.

Reese Witherspoon opted for a gorgeous emerald green, off-the-shoulder ensemble by designer Zac Posen that totally popped against her complexion.

There was nothing strange about the way Millie Bobby Brown expertly navigated the red carpet, opting for a refreshing, teen-appropriate look that totally stole the show. The Calvin Klein campaign model opted for a custom-made, sequin ensemble from the fashion house, which she paired with crisp white Converse sneakers and ribbons in her hair.

Olivia Munn also sported the metallic trend as she stepped out in an Oscar de la Renta ensemble that consisted of a strapless silver bodice and silver leaf-like detailing that adorned the black skirt of her form-fitting gown as she presented alongside Niecy Nash.

Kate Hudson’s pink frock, (complete with small black hearts that looked like polka-dots), proved to be the most polarizing look of the night on social media garnering even more mixed reviews than Nicole Kidman’s dress, however, we applaud her for taking a risk on the red carpet and especially loved the way the detailing of her Valentino gown offset her chic pixie cut.

Halle Berry brought her signature sexy glamour to the stage in a nude embellished Pamella Roland gown that featured a black tulle overskirt.

Saorise Ronan opted for a long-sleeved pastel Louis Vuitton gown which featured silver sequin detailing.
