The 13 Reasons Why season 3 trailer is here and people are freaking out

It’s the controversial cult teen suicide drama that the world just can’t stop watching and fans of 13 Reasons Why will be delighted to know it’s coming back for a third season.

Netflix producers took to the official Instagram and Twitter page to share this teaser for the next season of the top tv series, which will be executive produced by Selena Gomez – and people are freaking out.

Here’s everything we know about season 3 so far…

When is 13 Reasons Why Season 3 coming to Netflix?

Avid fans will remember that Season One arrived on Netflix March 31 2017 and Season Two came to screens on May 18 2018, which was 12 months after it was officially confirmed by Netflix.

Unfortunately, we don’t yet have an official air date for Season 3 but we know it’s coming sometime in 2019. Digital Spy believe we can expect it in May 2019 at the earliest.

Patience is a virtue, people!

The trailer

The official teaser was posted on the official Instagram page. It was a short clip of someone opening a school locker with the passcode: 20-1-9, and removing a lunch bag.

The clip was captioned: “What happens now? Season 3 of #13ReasonsWhy is coming. ”

Dylan Minnette (Clay Jensen), Christian Navarro (Tony Padilla), Brandon Flynn (Justin Foley), Justin Prentice (Bryce Walker) and Alisha Boe (Jessica Davis) will most likely all be making a return to Season 3.

Katherine Langford, who played Hannah Baker – the youngster who tragically met death by suicide in season two – could even be making a return.

Speaking about her potential return, showrunner, Brian Yorkey, said: “The loss of Hannah will continue to be the inciting traumatic event for this group of kids and parents. It will always be part of the story.

“But I don’t see a tremendous continued presence for Hannah because I think we needed her to finish telling everyone else’s side of her story and we needed her so that Clay could get to a point of saying, ‘I love you and I let you go’. If the story does continue, and certainly there is lots more to know about a lot of these characters, then the spotlight focus on Hannah Baker is probably done. ”

How did Season 2 end?

SPOILER ALERT: Season 2 ended somewhat controversially with Tyler Down (Devin Druid) brutally and sexually assaulted by Montgomery de la Cruz (played by Timothy Granaderos) and his jocks.

Tyler was then seen bringing an assault rifle to the Spring Fling ready to take revenge on his bullies but Clay manages to talk him out of it. By this point, the police are on their way and the season concludes with the boys asking: “What do we do now? ”.

Talk about a cliffhanger!
