Paris Hilton, socialite, DJ, reality television star, and the original famous-for-being-famous person, is officially engaged to boyfriend Chris Zylka.
Hilton confirmed the news today on Instagram, sharing a photo of she and Zylka atop a snow-covered mountain in Aspen, Colorado. Zylka is down on one knee, while Hilton wears a star-spangled metallic snowsuit and stares down at him lovingly.
“I said Yas! ” Hilton writes in the post. “So happy excited to be engaged to the love of my life. My best friend soulmate. Perfect for me in every way. So dedicated, loyal, loving kindhearted. I feel like the luckiest girl in the world! You are my dream come true! Thank you for showing me that fairytales do exist. ”
Zylka is an actor who has appeared in The Leftovers and The Amazing Spider-Man. He and Hilton reportedly met eight years ago at an Oscars party, then reconnected two years ago. Hilton made their relationship social media-official last February with a post on Instagram.
Rumors began to swirl about the engagement on January 1, when Hilton was spotted out and about, sporting a massive diamond ring. According to People, it’s a 20-carat, pear-shaped diamond truly fit for a princess (or, you know, a famous heiress).
“The ring was so gorgeous and sparkling,” Hilton told People. “I was shaking as I put it on. It is the most beautiful ring that I have ever seen. ”
Sources close to Hilton told the magazine that they have “never seen her so calm, happy, secure, and at peace. ”
