Reformation Tapped Businesswomen In Male-Dominated Fields to Model Their Holiday Collection

Remember in Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion when Mira Sorvino’s character, Romy, asks a confused diner waitress if they have “some sort of businesswoman special”?

Well, had she asked Reformation designer Yaya Aflalo instead, the answer might have been different. In lieu of traditional models, Ref tapped several businesswomen from traditionally male-dominated fields, like banking, engineering, and law, to model their effortlessly glamorous holiday collection.

The result is a chic editorial filled with women you can hope to emulate both sartorially and otherwise.

While Reformation isn’t releasing the companies and last names of their stars, we do know that, according to Fashionista, there’s Kirsten, the founder of an e-commerce-driven venture capital firm; Katy, who works at a bank managing a portfolio of companies working for social and environmental change; Kate,Branch Chief of Operations for Engineering at a space agency; and Jamie, an attorney. So yeah, those are some pretty intense – and very impressive – jobs in industries that are, in the worlds of a press release from Reformation, “notorious for under-representing the ladies. ”

Reformation has a great track record of working with aspirational-yet-accessible women like the Haim sisters, who designed a capsule collection for the brand, and Andreja Pejic, who fronted last year’s holiday campaign. Model Camille Rowe and influencer Jeanne Damas have also designed for the eco-friendly label.

In typical Ref fashion, the holiday collection is full of ’70s-inspired gowns and jumpsuits that have us itching for a swanky party to go to – or really any excuse to lounge around in a low-cut dress like we’re Michelle Pfeiffer in Scarface. And seeing the goods on real women just makes the urge to buy even greater.
