Moms Everywhere Will Relate to Chrissy Teigen’s Struggle Getting Luna to Smile

Getting your kids to stand still for a photo is one thing, but once they’re finally settled, how do you ask them to smile? Chrissy Teigen recently shared a glimpse of her struggle taking a photo with 2-year-old daughter Luna Stephens.

While the mom of two held baby Miles close in her arms for the sweet snap, Luna stared down the camera with a straight-faced, determined expression. Chrissy explained their dialogue in the caption, and let’s just admit it: moms everywhere know that back and forth all too well.

“Luna. Luna please. Luna one smile. Please for mama,” Chrissy wrote. “Okay that’s fine you don’t have to. Don’t listen to people that tell you to smile. But please can you smile. No it’s ok nevermind. Maybe one smile? ”

Chrissy has always given an honest glimpse into motherhood, and this moment between her and the kids is no exception. She hints at the concern many parents feel over asking their child to smile on command while still wanting to capture an adorable family moment. It’s a balancing act, and each parenting style is truly different. Here’s another way of looking at it: maybe Luna’s taking after her model mom and just trying out her “smize” for the camera? In that case, may we just say, she’s owning it.
