Love all things beauty? You *need* to attend this epic event

If you love all things beauty (erm, who doesn’t? ), then you need to get yourself down to Beautython – an epic beauty event in London.

For 10 days from Thursday 13th September until Sunday 23rd September, Covent Garden’s Beauty Quarter will host Beautython, a beauty and shopping extravaganza celebrating the best makeup, fragrance and skincare retailers.

Beauty junkies will enjoy exclusive products (yes please), new launches and demonstrations (what more could you want? ), late night shopping (convenient) and panel discussions by beauty insiders from GLAMOUR (yes, us! ).

Shoppers will be able to donate beauty products to those in need by supporting charitable initiative Give and Makeup, and visitors can also eat and drink beauty inspired cakes and cocktails at restaurants across the estate. Honestly, what more could you want?

Here’s what to expect…

The GLAMOUR beauty panel

On Thursday 13th September, Beautython kicks off with a panel discussion co-hosted by GLAMOUR, asking some of beauty’s most influential voices what the future of beauty is.

Chaired by our Editor-in-Chief, Deborah Joseph, and with panelists including our Beauty and Lifestyle Director, Camilla Kay, as well as Rachel Horsefield, Managing Director of the Prestige Beauty Division at The Hut Group, Beauty Expert, Writer and Influencer, Jane Cunningham, and Navaz Batliwalla, Co-Founder of the The Beauty Conversation and Founder and Writer of the Disneyrollergirl, we can assure you it’ll be epic.

What else is happening?

Covent Garden’s beauty, fashion and dining destinations will be getting involved in Beautython 2018, with takeovers on Covent Garden’s iconic Piazza floral swings by luxury brands Dior, The Shop at Bluebird and Penhaligons.

There will also be a Central Avenue pop-up beauty bazaar from luxury makeup and fragrance brand, Tom Ford, fragrance brand Atelier Cologne, Diptyque and Floral Street Fragrance, as well as bath and beauty connoisseurs, Molton Brown.

Tom Ford and Bobbi Brown will also be offering trendsetters the chance to attend in-store makeup masterclasses and events based on Spring Summer ‘19 trends from NYC Fashion Week. Inspired by London Fashion Week, NARS are inviting visitors to join Senior Makeup Artist, Samantha Qureshi, on Thursday 20 September to discover the latest makeup techniques and exclusive products.

Charlotte Tilbury, Jo Malone London and Floral Street Fragrance will also be hosting in-store events across the 10 days, with shoppers receiving a limited edition tote bag from illustrator, Lucia Curzi.

If that wasn’t enough, subscription-based beauty brand, GlossyBox, will be taking subscribers and Covent Garden shoppers on a beauty hunt on Thursday 13th and Friday 14th September with golden tickets hidden and waiting to be discovered around Covent Garden’s Piazza. The golden tickets will guide the winners to a beauty store within The Beauty Quarter where they will collect 1 of 5 prize bundles worth £50 or more, brands participating include NARS, Charlotte Tilbury, Miller Harris, Blink Brow Bar, Molton Brown and more.

The charity touch

During Beautython, shoppers will have the opportunity to donate unused makeup, skincare and toiletries via a beauty bank in Covent Garden supporting non-profit charitable initiative, Give and Makeup, whose purpose it to get everyday essentials into the hands of women and children who need them the most thanks to Refuge.

And there’s fashionable food, too!

Shoppers and beauty buffs can spend their day in Covent Garden, with the chance to try beauty product-inspired cocktails and dishes from some of restaurants – including Jo Malone London’s partnership with The Ivy Market Grill on a Honeysuckle Daquiri cocktail.

So, how do I get involved?

Hosted in The Shop at Bluebird on Floral Street, tickets are £11. 37 (inc. booking fee) with £10 going to Refuge. As well as exciting discussions and insider tips and insight, attendees will receive a bespoke Lucia Curzi designed goody bag, including the new GLAMOUR issue (it’s a good-un), and products from brands across Covent Garden.
