On Friday, April 3rd, Jenner posted a video to her Instagram Stories in which she’s playing with her now naturally almost-shoulder-length hair. She flips thebobaround while using a butterfly filter, the video overlayed with the caption, “Hair health journey rn. ”
Like so many of us, celebrities have been experimenting with their beauty routines and hairstyles while staying home to help prevent the spread of coronavirus. While some, like Bella Hadid, are playing around with accessories, others, like Miley Cyrus and Blake Lively, are giving their partners haircuts when going to the salon isn’t an option. Kylie Jenner, on the other hand, is using this opportunity to stop experimenting with her hair as much as she usually does.
A couple of weeks ago, we got a sneaking suspicion that Jenner, who frequently wears wigs and extensions to quickly change up her hairstyle and colour, might be wearing her natural hair in the warm bronde shade she’d been seen in recently and not her natural dark brown colour. And now, Jenner has confirmed that’s the plan.
“This is actually the first time I’ve worn my natural hair,” she said after revealing she “used her little Dyson thing,” perhaps referring to the new Dyson Corrale straightening tool.
Jenner also showed off her natural nails, which, while not short, are significantly shorter than the extensions she usually wears. “Stop! I feel so uncomfortable,” Jenner said after Karanikolaou pointed out her pretty pink manicure. However, Jenner didn’t remove her fake nails because they had grown out. She just sees this period of self-isolation as an opportunity to start fresh. “My nails didn’t even need to be taken off. This is such a good time to just take your hair out and your nails out, no lashes. ”
“We’re just natural queens,” Karanikolaou laughs.
“So natural,” Jenner responds.
Whether or not Jenner jumps right back into extensions of all kinds once we no longer have to stay home is a mystery, but it’s safe to say she’ll come out of this with some of her healthiest hair, nails, and lashes ever after giving them a breather.
