It’s been approximately six weeks since Kate Middleton announced that she’s expecting her third (yes, third! ! ! ) baby, and the Duchess of Cambridge just made her first public appearance looking chic – and not at all bloated – in a skyblue lace dress from Temperley London.
The occasion was a reception at Buckingham Palace in celebration ofWorld Mental Health Day. She attended the event alongside Princes William and Harry, though Meghan Markle was unfortunately absent.
It’s widely known that the Duchess suffers from severe morning sickness and has had to cancel several appearances due to the affliction, which affects over 50% of pregnant women, so her presence at today’s event is a bigger deal than usual.
According to WWD, “aKensington Palace spokesperson said that while her condition has improved, she will not be resuming full royal duties in the immediate future. ” Her last public appearance was in late August when she attended a viewing at the Diana Memorial Garden at Kensington Palace on the 20th anniversary of Princess Diana’s death.
While Kate, who is only about 16 weeks pregnant, has hardly begun to show, that apparently hasn’t stopped Royal obsessives from playing “spot the baby bump,”an activity that would probably make us want to steer clear of the limelight as well.
