Is This Dress Finally Going to Turn Whitney Into a Reformation Customer?

I kind of can’t believe I don’t own anything from the brand yet. Alexis jumper, $178, available here

In theory, I’ve been a fan of Reformation for years. I love that the brand’s chic styling and millennial-approved branding has made eco-friendliness appealing even to people who might otherwise roll their eyes at the thought of saving the turtles.

And yet in practice, I’ve never actually owned any Reformation pieces for myself. I could blame the fact that the brand’s sexy L. A. girl vibes don’t always resonate with my slightly more tomboyish instincts, but in reality it probably has more to do with my instinct to shop secondhand over and above everything else.

This jumper dress, however, might be what changes things for me. As someone who would live in dresses if she could but doesn’t always like looking super girly-girl, this feels like the perfect compromise.

I could see myself wearing it on repeat all summer with a mesh t-shirt underneath and white high-top sneakers – and even though I wish summer would never end, it’s good to know this dress could transition into cooler months, too, with a turtleneck and tights.
