Drew Barrymore Cuts Off Her Hair In Response to Cruel Internet Trolls

On Wednesday, the actress opened up on Instagram about a recent experience that left her hurt. “Haters gonna hate. Yesterday I saw comments on my Instagram feed about my post that were mean, cruel, and ugly.

It hurt me,” she wrote in response to internet trolls. But the mother of two daughters wasn’t going to let these nasty comments get the best of her. Instead, she spent the day practicing self-care with a fresh haircut and a positive mantra.

What’s with people’s obnoxiousness online? Sadly, the habit of hurting others on social media has become too commonplace. Internet trolls are constantly looking for opportunities to post offensive and downright mean comments, especially if you are of celebrity or influencer status. While it can be argued that they put themselves in the spotlight, Drew Barrymore reminds us that celebs are just like us – they have feelings, too.

“And you know what women do when they get hurt? ? ? ? They pick themselves up! Go get a haircut. Put on some lipstick and chant “if you don’t have something nice to say… don’t say anything at all” … Pretty is on the inside. But a little love on the outside never hurts. #thisfeedisforlovers,” the post reads.

She also thanked her hairstylist Marki Shkreli, who gave her a bouncy, collarbone-grazing cut, and makeup artist Yumi Mori, who’s responsible for that fierce red lip, for “dusting her off” and helping her “feel pretty. ” Later that night, Barrymore was spotted sporting her new look at the Christian Siriano Book Release Party in New York City.

I’ve always had a celebrity crush on Drew Barrymore, and when I met her at the launch of her Flower Beauty cosmetic line years ago, this crush turned full-blown admiration. She’s a true sweetheart with an inspiring entrepreneurial spirit. Flower Beauty is blossoming and in October, she launched her first fashion line.

As for her beauty? Well, that’s obvious. See her new look below.
